Join us for a conversation with Donny C. Shimamoto, CPA, CITP, CGMA, founder and managing director of IntrapriseTechKnowlegies LLC, an advisory-focused CPA firm accelerating innovation and business transformation, and the Inspiration Architect for the Center for Accounting Transformation.
As auditors and accountants, materiality is a very familiar term. It refers to the relative size of an amount or value, and its impact on decision-making. But what if we look at it through the lens of DEI? We quantify demographics and trends around groups of people. We use different terminology when measuring and grouping people into categories representing diversity. We then use those terms and labels to share the data.
This session will explore how we collect, organize and present DEI data. We will explore how language influences what we report and how we view the data. All of which can lead to different interpretations of what is "material” in DEI reporting.
